The watch, which would later be named the Santo, was the first men’s wristwatch.

Alberto Santos Dumont got a lot of publicity for breaking records as a daring pilot during this time, all the while he was wearing his Cartier Santos wristwatch. Needless to say, this garnered a lot of attention and it quickly changed the way people viewed wristwatches. Men all over the world wanted a wristwatch, and so, Cartier put it into production in 1907 (3 years after its initial creation).
