The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, which was discontinued from production in 2016, is one of Rolls Royce’s convertible models. A car that fits right at home here in South Florida.

The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe makes itself known anywhere and everywhere it goes. It’s a badge of honor. The all-black, long, curvy and sleek yet boxy and strong features of this Phantom Drophead’s exterior epitomizes the words “Rolls-Royce”. It’s an imposing look. Open up the suicide doors and the opulence and beauty only continues to impress. The interior is posh, yet we love it. It’s overstated, yet we wouldn’t want anything less and we can’t imagine anything more. It’s supremely high quality, with hand polished real wood paneling and leather so raw it feels like it’s fresh off some exotic bull. Everything is hand done, which is why Rolls Royce is still on top some 114 years since their founding.

Overall, the interior is super clean and extremely well thought and laid out. The innovative gadgets and tech included. Although some buttons can be confusing, when you purchase a Rolls Royce, you will get all the assistance you could ever ask for. It won’t take long to master your car.

The Rolls Royce is like having old money. It doesn’t only display luxury, it displays class and elegance. It’s not just a car, it’s a lifestyle. The Rolls Royce’s demographics are simple – wealthy businessmen, rich heirs, famous musicians, celebrities, star athletes and Royalty. Now, speaking of comfort, it absolutely doesn’t get more comfortable than a Rolls. The legroom is amazingly spacious, the seats are comfortable, even the steering wheel is a pleasure to grip.

On to the driving, which is equally as lavish as the interior and exterior. As Jay Z says, “Rolls Royce keep my movements, smooth while maneuvering.”

This indeed applies to the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead. It’s smooth at all speeds. Nothing can get in the way of the Phantom Drophead’s smoothness, unseen speed bumps included. You can thank the advanced air suspension and aluminum superframe for that.

Pop the hood and “mind = blown” continues. You will be face to face with a monster 6.75 liter V12 engine. What else would you expect with such a beast of a car…and one that costs over $400,000 dollars.

The massive engine is held in place with two steel braces. They are clearly trying to keep the monster at bay because this bad boy isn’t going anywhere.

Now, with that V12 engine, you are able to generate 453 horsepower and blow past 100mph speeds like it’s nothing. For such a big car, the Phantom Drophead Coupe is super fast and it handles with nimble precision. That said, it won’t give you great gas mileage. You should be happy with 12 in the city and 20 on the highway.

All in all, if inordinately luxurious cars are your thing, the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe will provide you everything you want and more.

LUXURY SWISS TIMEPIECES

Let’s talk timepieces, two that not only match the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, but are also worthy companions.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Black Theme, reference 25721ST.OO.1000ST.08, offers wrist presence like the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe offers road presence. It’s big. The case size is 44mm, but it wears even larger thanks to the structure of its lugs. The watch is robust, to say the least. The thickness reaches the height of 15mm. It’s a watch that can’t be missed.

As with the Phantom Drophead Coupe, the Black Theme Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore has a stunning interior. The black tappisserie dial catches the eye beautifully with its waffle-like appearance. The dial is classic AP with its monochromatic tone and large white numerals, some of which are hidden but the sub-dials. It all perfectly matches the case and the rubber diver strap.

At the heart of this chronograph watch rests a fully contained beast. It has an in-house AP calibre 2326/2840 that beats at 28,800 vph & contains 50 jewels. Similar to the Phantom Drophead’s gas mileage, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore only has a Power Reserve of 40 hours. Nevertheless, that surely shouldn’t cause any concern.

As for comfort, again, like the Phantom Drophead, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore offsets incredible comfort, especially for such a massive watch. The rubber strap and case conforms to the contours of the wrist and the integrated strap balances the heavy case perfectly.

The last thing we’d like to note is, this watch has a superb satin finish. A finishing that looks best, in our opinion, when done on the ultra sports watch metal, steel.

ROLEX 116200 DATEJUST STAINLESS STEEL BLACK & SILVER DIAL WATCH

Here we have a classic watch for a classy gentleman. This Rolex Datejust 116200 gets right down to business and it doesn’t try too hard. That being said, it provides immense style through the use of contrast in color and design, and through the use of “the old” and “the new”…

The Rolex Datejust 116200 offers a vintage yet modern look. The beautifully polished Oysterbracelet, 36mm Oystercase, and the smooth bezel gives it a wonderfully traditional look while the dial is undeniably contemporary. It has a silver center, to match the Oystercase and Oysterbracelet, with a jet black surrounding. Juxtaposed on the jet black background are white, luminescent hour batons and a minute track which also features small Roman numerals (a consummate touch of vintage spirit).

The Rolex 116200 is not an expensive luxury sports watch, but does that matter? We think not. It is still more than worthy of riding in a car like the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. In fact, the Rolex Datejust 116200 is considered one of the best Rolex Datejust’s of all time.

It’s a dress watch by nature, yet it feels very sporty at the same time. This is thanks to its popping dial, Oysterbracelet and smooth bezel. It can be worn dressed up or dressed down, fitting in flawlessly to any occasion. It’s one of the most versatile watches you can find.

Moreover, it is a watch that has proven to retain its value extremely well. We don’t make this point because we suggest you pay attention to its resale value, we say this as proof of demand among the watch collector realm.
